I wouldn't say that I take pride in making fun of others, but I do enjoy helping my friends make fun of themselves. This is why I think you should pierce Phineus (is that how we're spelling it these days??)... not because I'm making fun, but because it would BE fun!! Right?

Or not... some people should loosen up and throw the political correct bullsh*& out the window!!Lucindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07713547728685407945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8821388535696897269.post-61757381097062405282010-07-30T19:17:21.921-06:002010-07-30T19:17:21.921-06:00One more thing (Whose blog is this, anyway?) (Just like they would if they hadn't met you) By censoring it they have made it something shameful, and mean. And it seems like that wasn't the intent at all. Rather it was just a light-hearted, quirky little ditty about something they found interesting... Cuz it is!Mikey Manhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10606539237499001675noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8821388535696897269.post-41308479731656535132010-07-29T20:26:00.500-06:002010-07-29T20:26:00.500-06:00Okay Tash, Since you asked for it:

(A country not known for it's exemplary treatment of those with disabilities.) You were wearing a tank top, and had henna'd a Hindu design on the shoulder/hand area of your little arm, and were busy serving breakfast... Even though you didn't work there! I commented to the person I was with that you seemed to know everybody. She commented on how beautiful you were, and that you weren't in the least bit self-conscious... Then we laughed at the fact that by decorating your "handicap", it ceased to become one!

Which is the whole point.

But most people probably don't get that at first. I would have acted exactly the same as Chris did, at that point in your relationship... You, personally, are changing people's notions about what is appropriate and respectful behavior, towards you... But it takes time, as it's new territory for most people. Especially single guys! The poor guy can't decide if he should protect you or make fun of you. (Little does he know that you don't need protection, and could kick his ass with one hand tied behind yo-- Um... Never mind.)

Now that we're friends, I point and laugh at you on a regular basis-- And encourage others to do the same. Give the dude some time-- He'll come around to see all that IS Tasha Books... When that happens, he'll learn to laugh as your friends and family do: Not at your handicap, but at those who would see you as anything less than perfect.Mikey Manhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10606539237499001675noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8821388535696897269.post-44918870819058813512010-07-29T18:42:00.245-06:002010-07-29T18:42:00.245-06:00It seems most appropriate for people to make fun o...It seems most appropriate for people to make fun of themselves, or for close friends to poke fun at and laugh with each other. I'd even say it's healthy, cathartic. Comedians do it all the time! You just have to know your audience.summerrainshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14057215589796293956noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8821388535696897269.post-73804884967391239402010-07-29T16:32:54.985-06:002010-07-29T16:32:54.985-06:00I think some of the most amazing things in life ar...I think some of the most amazing things in life are unique, a rare bird or an ugly duckling.
